Mistfall Hunter Matchmaking — Regions, Ping & Squads
Last revised 2026-08-14. Tested against the current live patch.
Matchmaking decides who you meet in a raid — and in an extraction game, that's a PvP decision as much as a co-op one. Here's how lobbies work so you can pick the right mode.
Solo vs trio modes
Mistfall Hunter separates solo and trio map modes. Trio maps offer three-times reward chests and quests — but also triple the chance of meeting other squads, which is where the danger (and the loot) scales. Solo maps are safer and slower; trio maps are the fast lane if you can handle the company.
Region & ping
Like most online games, you're matched primarily within your region for playable ping. If you're seeing high latency, check that you're on your home region and that nothing on your connection is saturating the line during raids. Stable ping matters more than peak FPS in a PvPvE fight.
Crossplay pooling
PC, PS5, and Xbox share one player pool for crossplay, so your lobby isn't split by platform. That widens the available population significantly versus a platform-locked game — good for queue health everywhere. Console and PC players meet in the same raids when crossplay is on.
How to find a squad
- Use the official community (Discord / Reddit / Steam hubs) to pre-make a trio before queueing — coordinated trios clear content far faster than random fills.
- If you queue solo into trio maps, expect to play around other squads rather than against them by default; third-partying is a choice, not a given.
- For a quieter farm, stay in solo modes and avoid the central hot zones (see the map guide).
